The upper tidal Potomac has been running high and muddy since May 15th. This span of above average flow has included two floods as well as two other minor high water events that have combined to one of the longest stretches of unfishable water that anyone around here can remember. Normally June is a fantastic time of year to fish. Striped bass, walleye, smallmouth, and gar are abundant in the Fletchers area. Will we go directly into the dog days of summer once the water recedes? Or will we have a delayed bite that lasts into July. Time will tell.
